Every time you scroll instagram there's always incredible images where the sea is a beautiful blue and everyone looks tanned; but they never look like your images right? I used to get so frustrated with this and couldn't ever edit my images to make my grid look amazing... until I found Adobe Lightroom!
Downloading a preset in Lightroom to filter your images will make your grid look so much better! Images are brighter and sharper and your chances of brand collaborations will likely go up! I'm going to explain some images below and how I edited them.
1. Selfie Up Close
So the first image is me wearing a simple jumper dress that is quite dull and plain in colour when photographed. When a pre-set is added it brightens the jumper straight away to a whiter colour immediately drawing attention to it and showing it in it's best light. My face in the second image with the preset applied is also much brighter, my eyes appear bluer and my lips look shinier. Sometimes a quick selfie wearing a jumper can seem dull, but with a preset it transforms it! I've added a tint and some saturation alongside the preset.
2. Far Out Full Outfit
Editing far out shots can be tricky due to the background. With a preset your background can actually look much better! In the first un-edited image, the entire image is dull and almost grey-ish whereas in the second image the walls and worktops are whiter and I look way more tanned. When you lighten up an image it immediately makes the crop and jeans look better; which is the focus of most images! After adding my preset, I slightly upped the vibrance and the saturation to make the colours pop more!
3. A slightly blurry, front-camera image
As you can see sometimes using the front-camera on self timer can mean you get a slightly blurry image. The only way to really revive this is to make some colours pop within the image to distract it! Wearing a brown coloured dress isn't particularly bright and so the image doesn't stand out; however when adding some simple edits it makes the brown lighter, the background whiter and the whole image brighter! I upped the saturation and vibrance after adding a preset as I felt that if I looked slightly more tanned it would further distract from the blurriness.
So there we have it; a way to transform your images and make them gram worthy! Download Lightroom and download from free presets online (you can google these) and it will really make your images better! As always thanks to Femme Luxe Finery for the gifted clothing!
